Frequently asked questions
Which legislation is the template based on?

On the model structure in Annex III of Decision No 768/2008/EC, which the Low Voltage, EMC, Radio Equipment, RoHS, Toy Safety and most other CE directives follow. Some legislation, such as the Machinery Directive or the Batteries Regulation, requires additional elements.
Can I use the template for any product?

You can use it as the structure for most CE-marked products. The content (which legislation, which standards) depends on your product; our product guides show the usual set for common product types.
Does filling in the template make my product compliant?

No. The declaration states conformity that must already have been demonstrated through testing and technical documentation. The template only gets the document's structure right.
